Membership Information

 

All property owners in Harbison who are current in paying assessments and resident renters whose landlords are current in paying assessments can use the Community Center facilities without charge.

Non-residents may become members of the Community Center by purchasing one of the following membership plans. At Harbison, there are no special “joining fees” to pay or contracts to sign. Just choose the plan that best suits your family’s needs.

Policy Regarding Young Children
Children under the age of  fourteen years old must be accompanied by an adult while anywhere in the Community Center.   If such children are unaccompanied, the responsible adult will be reminded of the regulation. If a second reminder is required, both adult and child may be asked to leave the center. No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the Cardio and Weight rooms.

Parking
Free parking is available. If all spaces are taken, you may park on the street or in the overflow area by the tennis courts. Handicapped parking is available at the front entrance of the building as well as near the pool area.

Policies and Rules

 

Persons with Disabilities

Access for disabled persons is provided to each level of the Community Center. In addition, a special ladder for entry into the pool is available as is a hydraulic lift for individuals requiring special assistance. Information about access is available at the Front Desk.

Rules and Regulations:

  1. No one will be permitted access to the facilities without a current Harbison Membership Card.  Harbison homeowners, apartment complexes and businesses must be current on assessments.
  2. Members must swipe their card immediately upon entering the facility.  Membership cards are not transferable. A $5 charge will be made to replace a lost membership card.
  3. If a guest is looking for a patron in the Center, that person will be paged by the Front Desk.
  4. All members must enter through the main entrance of the Center. Members seen entering through the back doors will be suspended from the Center for one week. (This does not include members using the wheelchair entrance to the pool.)
  5. No one under the age of 14 is allowed in the Center without being accompanied by an adult (18+).
  6. Fighting in the facility or on the premises will result in immediate removal from the property and could lead to permanent suspension.
  7. Be respectful of other members – no loud conversations or loud music.
  8. Shirts and shoes must be worn in the Center.

 

ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND SMOKING
Alcohol, drugs and smoking (including e-cigarettes or vaping) are strictly prohibited in the Center or anywhere on the premises. If the use of alcohol, drugs or smoking are observed in the Center, contact a Center staff member to have the offending person removed from the Center.

PROFANITY
The Center is family oriented. Profanity is prohibited in the Center. Contact a Center staff member should you hear anyone using profanity to have the offending person removed from the Center.

LOST AND FOUND
All lost items in the Center will be turned into the Front Desk and will be held for 30 days. Any unclaimed items will then be discarded or donated.

INCIDENT REPORTS
In the event there is a medical or behavioral incident, member and staff will recount the incident in report form and follow procedure. These reports are located at the Front Desk. A report will be turned in to the Executive Director and a copy of the report to HR.

PARTICIPANT LIABILITY
Participation in the Center activities and programs is completely voluntary. Individuals participate at their own risk and assume responsibility for their own health and safety. You may suffer physical injury from participating in these activities. The Harbison Community Center is not liable for the injuries sustained during participation in any activity or program. It is strongly recommended that all participants consult a physician and /or have a physical exam prior to participation.

GUEST POLICY

HOMEOWNERS
1. Homeowners receive 20 guest visits a year on their guest pass cards.
2. Only one guest pass card is issued per household.
3. Guest pass card will only be given to an adult homeowner.
4. Homeowners must accompany their guests at all times.
5. Homeowners may use their guest pass cards for their visitors of have their guest pay a $10 fee.
6. All guests must sign in on the Guest Sign-In Sheet at the Front Desk upon entering the Center.
7. Guest pass cards are only issued to the homeowner and not the tenants of the home.
8. Lost guest pass cards are not replaced and may not be purchased.
9. Guest pass privileges may be revoked at any time by HCA staff.

HOME RENTERS/APARTMENT TENANTS/BUSINESS EMPLOYEES
Home/Apartment Renters or Business Employees do not receive a guest pass card. They may bring guests with them for a $10 per person/per visit fee.

 

Violation of any policy may result in ejection from the Center.

 

LOCKER ROOMS

  1. Locks are not provided by Harbison, and will be the responsibility of the member. It is recommended that you lock up any valuables while you utilize the Center.
  2. All lockers in the facility are DAY lockers only. If locks (provided by the member) are left on lockers overnight, they will be cut off.
  3. No member of the opposite sex older than six years of age is allowed in the locker rooms. There is a family changing room on the pool deck.
  4. Members must provide their own towels and hairdryers. Harbison provides shower gel.
  5. The swimsuit water extractor is for your convenience. Please be advised no more than three seconds are needed to extract water, and using it as such will prolong the life of your swimsuit.

POOL
The indoor pool temperature ranges between 83 and 86 degrees. The temperature of the spa is maintained at approximately 104 degrees. PLEASE NOTE: Although every effort is made to keep these temperatures constant, they occasionally may vary due to boiler fluctuations, etc.

1. No diving into the pool is allowed.
2. Pool closings may occur unexpectedly due to chemical imbalance or for other reasons that cannot be controlled. Any closing will be posted at the entrance to the Community Center as quickly as possible after the decision is made. In the case of thunder and lightning, the pool will open 30 minutes after the last thunder clap is heard.
3. Swimsuits, no streetwear or cotton, are required when using the pool or spa.
4. Please shower before entering the pool or spa.
5. No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the spa.
6. You must be 14 years old to use the pool, otherwise children must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age.

BASKETBALL COURT
1. You must be 14 years of age to use the basketball court, or be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age.
2. No black soled shoes are allowed in the basketball court.
3. No food or beverages are allowed.
4. Hanging on nets and rims is NOT allowed.
5. Shirts are required at ALL times.
6. No bags, including duffle, book or backpacks are allowed.

CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOMS
1. Members using the weight room/cardio room are asked to wipe perspiration off the equipment after use. Towels and cleaning spray are available in the weight room/cardio room for this purpose. Not only is this a courtesy to others, but it also helps to prolong the life of the equipment. your cooperation will be appreciated greatly.
2. There is a 30 minute time limit on the equipment in the weight room/cardio room. Please be aware that other members are waiting to use this equipment, so please be courteous.
3. TVs are provided in the weight room/cardio room. Please remember to put the remote back on the provided shelf for the other members.
4. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to use the weight room or cardio room. There are absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS.
5. No bags, including duffle, book or backpacks are allowed.

TENNIS COURTS
A tennis court can be reserved for 1.5 hours no more than 24 hours in advance. Reservation slips must be picked up at the Front Desk in order for a reservation to be valid. Residents must purchase a key to the Resident Courts on Piney Woods. The tennis courts lights at the Center and Resident Courts are turned on with a switch and may be used until 10:00 pm when the lights will automatically go off.
